I used to keep a blog. Back then it was called a weblog; shows my age I guess. Then, in 2006, I left the country and my weblog got very quiet. Actually, it went silent. I no longer knew what I could and could not say. I was busy learning a new language and a new culture.
However, something in me has always missed the venue for words.
In the past five years the times have changed. Shortly after I left off weblogging, blogging suddenly became popular. Then social networking was born and made it's bid to take over the world. I've kept up with the times and have accounts on all the right networks. However the stream-of-consciousness style of communication that defines the social web often leaves me with a nagging feeling that something is missing. I believe that words are powerful, particularly written words. They are to be used to a purpose -- crafted one by one. The tattered rags that of words that have been fed through the social media blender resemble fine art in the same way that hot dogs resemble good steak.
While I will still keep a separate personal website, I am done making appologies for it being a cluttered mess. It was always intended as a dumping ground for a hundred shades of work, play and experience.
I have felt for a long time that I wanted to keep a more focused collection of thoughts about how God is shaping me. I intend this site to be dedicated to that end.
